Who we are

This site is operated by UK2WestAfrica Adventure Challenge ("we", "us"), organiser of a motorcycle expedition from the United Kingdom to Guinea. Contact: uk2westafrica@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Rider registrations: name, email, phone, date of birth, nationality, motorcycle details, riding experience, emergency contact, medical notes, and any documents you upload.
• Sponsor enquiries: organisation name, contact person, email, phone, sponsorship interests, and notes you submit.
• Donations: name, email, amount, message, and payment confirmation identifiers (payments are processed by our payment provider — we never see your full card details).
• Contact form: name, email, and message content.
• Site analytics (optional, with your consent): anonymised pageviews, clicks on main calls to action, referring source, device type, and coarse geographic region via Google Analytics 4.

Why we use it

• To process your registration, enquiry, or donation.
• To send transactional confirmations and expedition updates you asked for.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
• To measure which pages and CTAs work, so we can improve the site.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share only with providers that help us run the site:

• Lovable Cloud (hosting, database, email delivery).
• Google Analytics 4 (site analytics, only if you consent to cookies).
• Our payment processor for donations (processes card payments securely).
• Law enforcement or regulators when legally required.

How long we keep it

Registration, enquiry, and donation records are kept for the duration of the expedition and up to 7 years afterwards to meet accounting and safeguarding obligations. Analytics data is retained for 14 months by Google Analytics.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You may ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your data, restrict its use, or object to processing. Email uk2westafrica@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie/localStorage entry to remember your consent choice. If you accept, we also load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies. You can change your choice at any time below.
